Terms of Use

The rules for using Opportunities Gate: who can sign up, what each account may do, how coaching works, who owns what you upload, and where our responsibility stops.

Acceptance of the terms and legal capacity

Clauses 1.1 – 1.3

These Terms of Use (Conditions Générales d'Utilisation) are a contract between you — as an applicant, a coach or a visitor — and To confirm: Company legal name (“Opportunities Gate”, “we”), the publisher of the platform described in the Legal Notice.

1.1 Who can use the platform

You must be at least eighteen (18) years old, or have the written permission of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf.

1.2 How you accept

Creating an account — with an email and password, or by signing in with Google, LinkedIn or Microsoft — means you accept these terms. Browsing the public pages without an account means you accept the sections that apply to visitors (6, 7 and 8).

1.3 Changes

We may update these terms. We tell signed-in users by email and on the platform at least To confirm: notice period before a change that affects their rights takes effect; continuing to use the platform after that date means you accept the new version.

Accounts and identity

Clauses 2.1 – 2.4

Each account has a role that decides what it can see and do. You are responsible for everything done with your account, and for keeping your password and sign-in methods safe.

Applicants

Search opportunities, save them, build an application, upload documents, and book coaching sessions. What you submit — CVs, transcripts, certificates, essays — must be true and your own.

Coaches

Offer coaching sessions after we approve their profile. A coach must give accurate details about their background and follow the code of conduct in section 4.

Suspension

We may suspend or close an account that gives false information, breaks these terms, or puts other users at risk. Except in urgent cases, we tell you why and give you a chance to answer first.

Opportunities and applications

Clauses 3.1 – 3.3

Opportunities Gate lists scholarships, fellowships, teaching programmes, volunteering and conferences offered by other organisations, and helps you prepare your applications.

Who does what

    We collect and check each opportunity from its organiser's official information.

  2. We help

    Your application workspace, AI-assisted analysis and coaching help you prepare.

  3. You apply

    You submit your application to the organiser, following their rules.

  4. They decide

    The organiser alone decides eligibility, selection, funding and deadlines.

Coaching code of conduct

Clauses 4.1 – 4.4

Coaching sessions are booked on the platform and take place by video (Microsoft Teams).

Coaches

No ghost-writing

Coaches give feedback and advice. They must not write an applicant's essays, statements or letters for them, or misrepresent an applicant to an organiser.

Everyone

Confidentiality

What is shared in a session stays between the applicant and the coach, except where the law requires otherwise.

Your content and our intellectual property

Clauses 5.1 – 5.3

5.1 You keep the rights to what you upload

Your CV, documents, essays and messages remain yours. You give us only the rights we need to store them, show them to you and to the people you choose (for example a coach), and run the features you use.

5.2 AI-assisted features

Some features, such as application analysis and the opportunity assistant, send the relevant content to an AI provider to produce their answer. We do not sell your content. How the provider may use it is described in the Privacy Policy: To confirm: AI provider data-use terms.

5.3 Our content

The platform's design, software, texts, logos and the opportunity database belong to Opportunities Gate or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and database rights. You may not copy or reuse them beyond normal personal use of the platform.

Prohibited conduct

Clauses 6.1 – 6.3

To keep the platform fair and available to everyone, you must not:

  • Collect listings, profiles or contact details with bots, scrapers or other automated tools.
  • Resell or republish opportunities or other platform content commercially without our written permission.
  • Probe, overload or attack the platform, or try to get around its security or access rules.
  • Upload false documents, impersonate someone else, or harass other users.

Third-party websites

Clauses 7.1 – 7.2

Opportunities link to organisers' websites, application portals and embassies. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for:

  • Changes an organiser makes to its criteria, fees or deadlines.
  • Outages or errors on an organiser's website, including on a closing date.
  • How those websites collect and use your data.

Limitation of liability

Clauses 8.1 – 8.2

We work to keep the platform available and its information accurate, but we provide it as it is and cannot promise it will always be available, error-free, or lead to a particular result.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim related to the platform is limited to To confirm: liability cap, e.g. the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law and disputes

Clauses 9.1 – 9.3

These terms are governed by the laws of To confirm: Governing law, e.g. Tunisia.

First

Talk to us

Before going to court, write to us with your complaint. We have To confirm: mediation period to try to reach an agreement with you.

Then

Competent court

If no agreement is reached, the dispute goes to To confirm: Competent court, unless the law gives you the right to go to the courts where you live.

You can close your account at any time from your settings. Sections 5, 8 and 9 continue to apply after it is closed.
